WB and FAO published the results of a joint report, advancing suggestions to cope with long-term trends of climate change, growing population, urbanization, changing consumption habits and technological advances. “A Blueprint for Strengthening Food System Resilience in West Africa” identifies three priority areas for collective intervention at the regional level to ensure the region’s food security in the medium and long term: strengthening the food system’s productive base trough climate smart agriculture; promoting an enabling environment for intra-regional value chain development and to facilitate trade; and enhancing regional risk management architecture together with farmers’ decision support tools.
